Lingerie not only acts as a base layer for any outfit, but also as a sultry surprise beneath it! Whether you're trying to build your wardrobe, or prepare for an upcoming Boudoir Session, quality lingerie is a luxury worth splurging on. You deserve to feel confident in everything, and I feel that starting with some solid, sexy pieces can immediately make you feel incredibly empowered. These suggestions are entirely general, and if they don't apply, just let them fly. Lingerie is super personal choice to everyone who wears it, so what's most important is that you find pieces that make you feel like a total badass! Here are some of my favorite pieces of lingerie for a Boudoir photoshoot, or to add to your collection.

10. Strapless Bras
Strapless Bras are a classic staple to any well rounded wardrobe. These bras allow you to wear several different cuts and necklines on your tops, dresses, etcetera, with ease. On their own, Strapless Bras offer a vivacious and voluptuous open shoulder look, making them an awesome addition to any Boudoir Session.
9. Lace Bralettes
Providing a more relaxed, yet dainty vibe, Lace Bralettes have become extremely popular in recent years - and I totally understand why! These bralettes are very versatile and comfortable, making them great for daily wear. They come in a wide array from basic, easy styles to more done up, delicate pieces. In photos, they are extremely beautiful, and compliment all body types.
8. Babydoll Lingerie
Babydoll Lingerie is the perfect combination of flirty and fun! Whether hanging at home, or preparing for your Boudoir Session, these pieces are flattering with a padded bra structure, yet comfortable with their soft, dress-like silhouette. For those looking for a more modest option that's still seductive, Babydolls are the perfect selection. Big Bonus - they photograph exceptionally well during Boudoir Sessions.
7. Various Styles of Panties
Everyone has their own distinct style, taste, and body type. That being said, diversity is key when it comes to your collection of Panties! Different styles are all suitable for countless outfits, situations, and moods. For example, you may want to throw on some boyshorts beneath a pair of sweatpants to stay in, but you may want a lacy cheeky for a date night instead. The key is finding what styles suit you and fit your body best. For Boudoir Sessions, I've noticed that bikini cuts, thongs, high waisted cheeky cuts are flattering for all shapes and sizes.
6. Chemises
Similar to the more modern Babydoll, one of my favorite styles of lingerie is the classic Chemise. The Chemise appears to have originated from the Roman tunica, rising to popularity in Europe during the Middle Ages. In the 1780s, the term chemise was used to describe an outer-garment when Queen Marie Antoinette of France popularized a loose, relaxed gown made of sheer white cotton. This gown resembled a traditional chemise in both cut and material, which became known as the chemise à la reine. Now, in the 21st century, the Chemise is still making appearances both in the bedroom, and in our Client Closet for Boudoir photoshoots!

5. Balconette Bras
A unique and lovely style of lingerie to include in your Boudoir Session is the Balconette Bra, which is of my personal favorites! Delicate and graceful, yet alluring and bold, this style of lingerie is a unique twist on the typical top. Balconette Bras have less coverage than a full-cup style, so they reveal a bit more skin while providing a rounded, uplifted shape. They are a lovely piece to add to your own personal attire after trying one from our Client Closet!
4. Bodysuits & Teddies
One of the most versatile pieces of lingerie is the Bodysuit, or Teddy. Available in many styles, Bodysuits and Teddies provide a full coverage look that is still stylish, sensual, yet sensible. They can be worn as a base layer to your outfit for a fun night out, or they can be worn in the studio for your Boudoir photoshoot! Our Client Closet has a wide variety of Bodysuits and Teddies in all sizes for clients to select from.
3. Garter Belts & Stockings
There's truly nothing better than a Garter Belt and a good pair of Stockings. A timeless look, Garter Belts are usually worn at the waist or slightly below to prevent the belt sliding downwards. Stockings have long been considered to be flirtatious or erotic, both in person and in photos, with many vintage Boudoir portraits from the early 20th century featuring women showing off their Stockings!
2. Bustiers
Bustiers are such a beautiful alternative to the basic bra. They are a longline style piece with a retro aesthetic, bringing both extra support and extra flair to your outfit. They are perfect not only for photoshoots, but for daily wear as well. Everyone should have a good Bustier in their closet, and make for an amazing piece during Boudoir Sessions.
1. Corsets
You heard it here first - a Corset is the ultimate, timeless piece of lingerie. Corsets first became widely recognizable in sixteenth-century Europe, reaching peak popularity in the Victorian era. In the present day, Corsets are still worn as both undergarments and outer-garments. For my Boudoir clients, I offer many variations of both over-bust and under-bust Corsets in a wide array of colors and sizes. I love being able to offer so many options in our Client Closet to allow my Vixens to enjoy the many styles of lingerie during their photoshoots.
